Delaware Pell Grants and Participating Education Institutions
The Delaware Pell Grant is available to Delaware state resident undergraduate students studying towards a baccalaureate or first professional degree. In order to qualify to receive the Pell Grant, Delaware students must prove a need for financial aid and be enrolled at an education institution that participates in the Federal Student Aid Program.
The maximum level of Pell grant award available to Delaware students for the 2011/2012 academic year is $5,710, and the minimum is $550. The level of award that Delaware students receive will depend on their enrolment status and Expected Family Contributions.
Delaware students can use the federal Pell grant at any of the participating education institutions across the United States. However, if studying out of state, they should expect to pay out-of state tuition fees. As a result, because students would be Delaware residents, their Pell grant awards and any additional federal and Delaware state funded college grants they receive will not stretch as far as they would if studying at one of Delaware’s education institutions.
