College Grants and Financial Aid for Tennessee Students

Tennessee resident undergraduate students can receive college grants through the Tennessee Student Assistance Awards program (TSAA). Free money is available to financially needy undergrads enrolled or accepted for enrolment at a public or non-public school or college in Tennessee on a degree program of at least half-time. The state funded grant program includes money from the state’s Education Lottery Corporation and federal LEAP program and is provided on first-come first-served bases. To apply for this grant program students are required to submit a FAFSA application before February 15th and must have an EFC of 2100 or less. The Grants for Tennessee college students vary in award amount and are determined by the college or school that students wish to enrol in.
Technical School Grants for Tennessee Students
A grant worth up to $2,000 toward the cost of attendance at a Tennessee Technology Center is available to Tennessee students who have been living in the state one year prior to enrolment. Applicants must be enrolled in a certificate or diploma program in order to receive the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant and must not have received a Tennessee hope scholarship or this grant program prior to enrolment. To apply for the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant student are required to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Receive a One-off Grant in your Freshman Year
TN Freshman students could receive a non-renewable college grant worth between $1,750 and $2,750 towards their school or college education from the Tennessee Hope Access Grant program. Providing students have a minimum weighted 2.75 GPA and 18-20 Act and their parents adjusted gross income is $36,000 or less, they can receive this one-off college grant to help with the cost of attendance at a Tennessee based education institution. The grant is available to any undergraduate students including minorities. Students who wish to apply for the Tennessee Hope Access Grant must complete a FAFSA application.
